The Blaff platform's mission is to showcase the expertise of professional fishermen and fishmongers by guaranteeing consumers direct access to seafood of impeccable freshness. Compliance with this charter is a mandatory condition for maintaining access to the Blaff service.
1. Status and legal compliance
The Seller certifies on their honor:
- Being a duly registered professional (valid business registration).
- Holding all fishing or seafood-trading licenses and permits required by applicable regulations.
- Being up to date with their tax and social security obligations.
2. Freshness and traceability — zero compromise
The Seller agrees to:
- Origin — Only sell products from identified local fishing or short supply chains.
- Timing — Guarantee that fish listed for sale was caught less than 24 to 48 hours before being made available (except for specific cases such as aging or live shellfish).
- Information — Accurately provide the species name, catch area and fishing method on every product listing.
3. Cold chain compliance
The Seller is solely responsible for sanitary safety until handover to the Customer:
- Products must be kept between 32°F and 36°F (0°C to 2°C) — on melting ice for fresh fish.
- The sale point must meet applicable hygiene standards (HACCP).
- In the event of a confirmed break in the cold chain, the Seller agrees to immediately withdraw the product from sale, under penalty of permanent removal.
4. Order management and availability
- Stock updates — The Seller agrees to update their stock listings in real time on the app to avoid unfulfilled orders.
- Unavailability — If a fishing mishap prevents delivery of the exact product, the Seller must offer the Customer an alternative of equal or greater quality upon their arrival at the sale point.
- The QR code — The Seller is required to scan the Customer's QR code. This scan confirms the actual weight and triggers the final payment process.
5. Ethics and customer relations
- Welcome — The Seller agrees to provide a professional and courteous welcome to platform customers.
- Transparency — No additional fee not disclosed on the app may be charged to the Customer at pickup.
- Eco-responsibility — The Seller favors sustainable fishing methods where possible and limits unnecessary plastic packaging.
6. Sanctions
Failure to comply with any of these points may result in:
- A formal warning.
- A temporary suspension of the seller account.
- Permanent removal without notice in the event of a serious sanitary safety failure (food poisoning, spoiled product) or fraud regarding origin.
